The Proposal -

It was the end of my summer school session and I had a week off before I had to go back for the fall session. Jordan had promised me that we’d go somewhere the weekend before, but he wouldn’t tell me where. I was a bit frantic to say the least, I hate surprises! We left on Thursday, August 25th, 2011 and just before our room mate texted me, “have fun in Vegas.” Ha! He spilled the beans … I knew where we were going now(at least I thought I did). As we were driving up the 91 freeway, we hit the 15 interchange for Vegas, but Jordan went 15 south. I kept telling him to get off the freeway because we were going the wrong way, but he just kept driving. This is when I realized that we were not going to Vegas. Anthony, the trickster, was in on it all along and texted me that to throw me off. We approached wine country in Temecula at a beautiful resort. We arrived at the South Coast Winery, Resort and Spa and I opened the door of our villa to rose petals strewn across the floor and on the bed (in a heart shape). It was beautiful! You’d think he’d propose then right? Nope …. He then tells me that we should get some sleep because we had to be ready by 5am the next day. Apparently a shuttle was picking us up to go paint balling. Who in the world goes paint balling at 5am? As we drove up the dark and desolate road, I almost had a mini panic attack. I didn’t know where we were. There were other guests in the shuttle from our resort but no one really said much at 5 in the morning. We arrive at a tent on the hill where I was suppose to sign a waiver for injury. This wasn’t good, but it wasn’t until I read the company’s name on the waiver that I figured out that we were going on a hot air balloon ride. I was super excited now! Neither Jordan nor I have been on one so I was happy to experience something new with the love of my life. The sun was rising above the mountains and air was cool as we floated higher and higher above the vineyards and orchards. It was very romantic. Towards the end of the balloon ride, mid-sky, Jordan asked the pilot if it would be alright to make an announcement. I just kept thinking, “This guy is crazy! What is he gonna say now?” He told the other 8 people in the basket that he appreciated them being there for this moment and that he’ll always remember them. The he turned and looked at me and said, “I love you and I want you to know that I want to be with you forever.” He got down on one knee in the cramped basket and asked me to marry him. I was speechless, but cried my eyes out. Haha! He put the ring on my finger and I realized I hadn’t said “yes” yet. So I said “yes” and everyone in the balloon cheered. It was definitely a moment I will never forget and share with our future children.

I am SO SO happy for you Rooney!!! I hope your life together with Jordan is full of love and blissful happiness <333
